I am a T32 postdoctoral scholar studying therapeutic approach to promote cardiomyocyte proliferation and heart regeneration for infants with congenital heart disease. I obtained my Ph.D. degree at the University of Vermont, Department of Pharmacology, where I studied the mechanisms of myogenic tone development in the cerebral microcirculation. After graduation, I started postdoctoral training in Vascular Medicine Institute at the University of Pittsburgh, with a major focus on the molecular mechanisms of NADPH oxidase (Nox) and reactive oxygen species (ROS)-mediated vascular dysfunction associated with aging and inflammation. My current research direction, under the guidance of Dr. Kühn, focuses on GPCR-mediated cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying suppressed heart regeneration and cardiomyocyte proliferation in infants and children with congenital heart diseases
