Job Opportunities

Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking post-doctoral fellows to join the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. The recruitment is for Post-Doc in the Laboratories of Dr. Bernhard Kuhn and Dr. Honghai Liu, located within the Department of Pediatrics at the Weill Cornell Medicine. The lab is focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms that control cardiomyocyte proliferation in the development of human congenital heart diseases and translate the discoveries in basic research to clinical trials with the goal to develop therapies for infants and children with heart disease. We use genetic mouse models, and cultured primary cardiomyocytes from mouse, rat, and human patients. We are seeking applicants who are passionate about scientific and medical research, with excellent academic performance and publication record.

We promote high research standards, foster teamwork, and provide supportive mentorship.  Available projects involve analysis of transcriptional profiles of single cardiomyocytes from mammalian specimen, including human patients, heart regeneration studies in neonatal and adult mammalian lab animals, microscopy of cardiomyocytes in culture and in the intact heart, and directing terminal differentiation of ES- and iPS-cell derived cardiomyocytes. Our projects are multi-disciplinary, involve collaborations with experts from diverse fields, and are NIH-funded.

How to Apply

Applicants should submit a CV, a cover letter describing past and future research interests and motivations for applying, and the contact information of 3 references to bek4011@med.cornell.edu and to pedsrecruitment@med.cornell.edu.
